Rodd Holtkamp, O’Brien County Implement Inducted into O’Brien County Value Added Agriculture Hall of Fame Primghar, Iowa, August 10, 2017 – The O’Brien County Value Added Agriculture Steering Committee has recognized an outstanding citizen each year with the Value Added Ag Hall of Fame Award since 2001. A business category was added last year and two awards were given. The Value Added Ag Steering Committee chose both an individual and a business recipient again this year. Mr. Rodd Holtkamp of Primghar was honored as the 2017 recipient of the Value Added Ag Hall of Fame Award and O’Brien County Implement of Sheldon was honored as the 2017 business recipient of the Value Added Ag Hall of Fame Award on Tuesday, August 8 th at the O’Brien County Farm Bureau Appreciation Supper held at the Primghar Community Building. According to the Ag Steering Committee, the successful candidate for this award must have demonstrated leadership, stewardship, community service and service to the agricultural industry. Both recipients are known for their devotion to family, their deep faith, and their dedication to the community and the agriculture industry. Rodd Holtkamp has been a resident of Primghar and O’Brien County since January, 1989, beginning as a loan officer and currently serving as Senior Vice President of the Savings Bank. During this time, Mr. Holtkamp has been very active in financing farming operations, agricultural and commercial businesses, and farm and residential real estate loans in the community and surrounding area. He has been instrumental in helping young farmers and young families obtain adequate financing. Rodd has also committed his time and talents to leadership and music ministries in his church as well as various community and county boards and committees. He is an enthusiastic supporter of his family, church, community, O’Brien County and the agriculture industry.

The O’Brien County Value Added Ag Committee selected O’Brien County Implement for their exceptional service to the agriculture industry in O’Brien County as well as their dedication to the community. O’Brien County Implement is owned by brothers, Lee, Jay and Tom Schemper, all of Sheldon. As a family business founded in 1948, O’Brien County Implement strives to ensure their customers are well equipped to accomplish the task at hand. Their dealership, service and parts department utilize customer driven business practices that demonstrate the honesty and work ethic that is so highly valued among the industry they serve.
