Northwest Iowa Community College's Practical Nursing Program Recognized as the 4th Top LPN Program in Iowa.

Northwest Iowa Community College’s Practical Nursing Program (the LPN program) has been recognized by PracticalNursing.org, a nursing advocacy organization, as the 4th top LPN program in Iowa. According to PracticalNursing.org website, “Nursing programs were assessed on several factors which represent how well a program supports students towards licensure and beyond. We analyzed past and present first time NCLEX-PN “pass-rates” - weighted by year. You can learn more about the methodology used here: https://www.practicalnursing.org/lvn-lpn-ranking-methodology

Deb Kleinwolterink, Director of Nursing Education, stated, “Last spring 100% of both of NCC's Practical Nursing & Associate Degree Nursing graduates passed their NCLEX State Board exams—which ALL nurses are required to pass to be able to practice as a nurse.  Between all of our nursing programs NCC averages 150 nursing students on campus during any given semester. Our health programs are strong and our graduates typically stay in the area after graduation helping area community members. We are proud to be honored as the 4th ranked LPN program in Iowa by PracticalNursing.org.”

PracticalNursing.org website stated, “Looking to enter the healthcare industry in Iowa? Becoming a licensed practical nurse (LPN) is a rewarding and promising career, with the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) predicting growth of nearly 12% for the industry through the year 2026. LPNs in Iowa earn an average hourly wage of $19.57, which equates to a salary of roughly $40,700 annually.
