The new building will be constructed near the 2nd Avenue exit off the Highway 60 Bypass south of Sheldon. This is the old RV Central location that Maintainer purchased in Spring 2018.

“We continue to see increased demand for our service trucks from our loyal customers,” said Maintainer President Shelley Morris. “In addition, our business development efforts give us confidence that we will continue to see growth for Maintainer in the future.”

Groundbreaking is planned for this spring, with the hope that new production capabilities will come online by Fall 2019. This will be the third major expansion for Maintainer in the past four years. A 7800-sq. ft. addition was completed in 2017 in response to increased demand for Maintainer’s line of mechanics trucks, lube trucks, and cranes. That came on the heels of a major 20,750-sq. ft. addition that was completed in 2015.

“We feel there is a lot of talent in Sheldon and the surrounding area,” said Morris, “so we are committed to growing here. This expansion should increase our production capacity by about 35%, and we plan to add 20-30 more jobs to the community.”

Maintainer now employs nearly 220 people between their Sheldon and Rock Rapids locations. The Sheldon Chamber and Development Corporation (SCDC) Executive Director Curt Strouth was pleased about the announcement.

“Congratulations to the whole Maintainer team on the accomplishment of this expansion project,” said Strouth. “Existing business and job growth are the heart of strong local economies, and it is with great appreciation that we recognize your continued commitment and support to Sheldon and our ever-growing community.”
