The primary role of this position is to safely load tankers with whey products in a timely manner, operate the shag truck, fine savers and separator. This position is responsible for the CIP (clean in place) of all whey silos along with sanitation of the loadout bay and surrounding areas. This position will take samples of the product in the tanker and test it according to procedure.

Desired Qualifications:

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED), preferred Food manufacturing, material handling and forklift operation experience preferred. Prior experience in the dairy or cheese industry is preferred. Prior experience in manufacturing is a plus. Knowledge of SQF, HACCP, GMP's, OSHA and loss control programs is highly desirable. Maintain a valid drivers’ license. CDL Class A driver’s license preferred.

Duties:

Responsible for safely loading tankers with whey products in a timely manner, operate the shag truck, fine savers and separator. Operator will start up, shut down, Clean in Place (CIP), and troubleshoot equipment when appropriate. Maintain all related records and documentation per policy and in accordance with state Department of Agriculture & Land Stewardship. Document and communicate production deficiencies to leads and management. Report and communicate critical information during shift change overs. Responsible for testing equipment using results to adjust equipment to improve quality of product. Responsible for understanding and following operating and cleaning procedures for the assigned equipment including cleaning lab and testing equipment after every use. Perform and document preventative maintenance and master sanitation tasks. Continuously look for process improvement opportunities and effectively communicate to others. Maintain good housekeeping and cleanup of equipment and supplies in your work areas throughout the plant. Drive semis and tractor trailers on premises in a safe manner. If properly licensed, drive semis and tractor trailers off the premises. If properly licensed, operate forklift to move inventory. Assist with training new employees. Provides assistance to the maintenance personnel, when needed, for machine repairs or troubleshooting. Adhere to all Quality and Food Safety policies and procedures, reporting any nonconformity. Adhere to all Safety policies and procedures, reporting any nonconformity. Adhere to all GMP policies and procedures, reporting any nonconformity. Other duties as assigned.
