LSI seeks a full time Foster and Adoptive Family Home Study Worker to provide services in our Foster Care and Adoption program in the Northwest Iowa service area. Spanish bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply! DUTIES The Foster and Adoptive Family Home Study Worker is responsible for completing the initial licensing process for prospective foster families and approval process for prospective adoption families. This entails maintain the interest of families who will meet service area priority needs, and closely collaborating with the support caseworker in supporting them through training, writing and submitting the home study packet and counseling families who can not meet the needs of children coming into care. Position will additionally work with birth families, DHS and other providers. The Home Study Worker will work with families to complete assigned new home studies within project timelines. Must have a strong understanding of licensing rules and adoption rules through the Department of Human Services and Iowa Code. Must be willing to work variable hours to meet the needs of prospective foster and adoptive families. Must participate in an on-call rotation. Must be willing to travel within the service area to complete home studies. LSI reimburses for mileage. QUALIFICATIONS Qualified applicants will meet the following criteria: A Bachelor's degree in social work or a related field and a minimum of two years experience in child welfare services.
